The 11th Greater Edendale Race to be hosted on Sunday, 12 November 2017 will see the introduction of an electronic entry system for all participants. The Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) hosts the community road running event in conjunction with the Msunduzi Municipality and the uMsunduzi Pietermaritzburg Tourism Association (MPTA). Media partner, Edendale Eyethu is also on board to drive coverage for the event.

Entries are currently being taken at Comrades Marathon House – 18 Connaught Road in Scottsville between 09h00 and 16h00, Monday to Friday, until Thursday 9 November 2017. Entries will also be taken on race day at the FNB Wadley Stadium from 05h00 to 07h00.

The electronic entry system will capture the following personal details of all athletes:

  • First Name
  • Surname
  • Gender
  • Cellular Number
  • I.D. Number
  • Date of Birth
  • Running Club
  • License Number

Runners are requested to please take note of the above particulars when getting their entry in. Those athletes who have already entered the 10km race manually, are asked to please present themselves at the Information Tent on race day, to collect their race numbers and to get their personal details captured on the database.

The events starts and finishes at the FNB Wadley Stadium in Georgetown Edendale. The race starts at 07h30 with entry fees as follows:

  • 10km: R40.00 for licensed runners
  • 10km: R55.00 for unlicensed runners includes temporary licence

The cut-off time is 2 hours and 30 minutes. Entrants must be 14 years, or older.
