Shvetsov returns to Comrades

The 2012 running of The Ultimate Human Race - a down-run from Pietermaritzburg to Durban – is hotting up! Four time Comrades gold medalist and two time winner Leonid Shvetsov returns to the world’s greatest ultra-marathon on 3rd June in the colours of Nedbank Running Club.

Shvetsov, with four gold and one silver medal to his name, will run his sixth Comrades Marathon. He currently holds the Comrades record after breaking it in 2007 in a time of 5:20:48. Shvetsov is also the up run record holder in a time of 05:24:49, achieved in 2008.

His training partner Sergey Lukin, another fast marathon runner with a best time of 02:10, will make his debut at this years Comrades marathon.

The 2012 Comrades field will see some major contenders and we are anticipating the great race!
