CMA Museum Curator, Roxanne Thomas has appealed to Comrades Marathon runners and enthusiasts to kindly assist us in building our history collection of Comrades news and happenings pre-dating the formation of the CMA.
Our physical memorabilia for the 1920’s right through to the 1970’s, literally fits into 9 shoe boxes. The earliest decades (20’s, 30’s, 40’s & 50’s) are, quite literally a few sheets of paper.
We are looking for old entry forms, correspondence with the race, results brochures and any documentation pertaining to the race, as well as any old flashes, badges, medals, bibs and shirts that you are willing to donate.
We are also looking for photographs of any race imagery from 1921 – 1979, even digitized copies, if you are wanting to hold onto your originals. The Museum is always grateful for any donations we receive and are hoping that we can build a fuller history of The Ultimate Human Race for future generations!
