It’s all about Comrades charitable giving as South Africa and the world counts down to the 93rd Comrades Marathon on Sunday, 10 June 2018. With less than 90 days to race day, the CMA is pleased to announce that Comrades runners have already raised more than R1.5-million for its official charities.
547 runners have signed up for Race 4 Charity, of which the first 500 to reach their R5000 target by 2nd May 2018 will qualify for the C batch at the start and 111 runners have already reached this goal.
Comrades Marathon runners donated a generous R387,200 with their entries, but the Race 4 Charity runners are proving to be the real champions of giving this year, having already raised R1,173,214 compared with R406,568 at the same time last year – representing a 188% increase in generosity towards the worthy beneficiaries of Comrades Marathon Official Charities.
