CLUB TENT AREAS

There will only be two designated areas for the Clubs.

  1. Inside the Stadium - Clubs will be allocated a seating area in the stadium off Level 3. This area will be cordoned off and clearly sign posted for each club. Unfortunately due to stadium regulations NO gazebos will be allowed in the stadium. This area will have full view of the runners entering the stadium and finish line. Runners will have to walk from the finish line to this area and this can only be accessed by the Southern Entrance of the Stadium – from Peoples Park. Signage will be available to direct runners and spectators to this area.
    • 50 seats – R500-00 ex Vat
    • 100 seats – R1000-00 ex Vat
    • 150 seats – R1500-00 ex Vat
    • 200 seats – R2000-00 ex Vat
    • 250 seats – R2500-00 ex Vat
  2. Peoples Park Club Tent Site Village – this is situated outside the stadium. There is no direct view of the runners on the route, although runners can be seen from a distance finishing along NMR Avenue/Masabalala Yengwa Avenue before entering the stadium.
  • Club Tent Area 1 –includes a 9m x 5m aluminium framed marquee and a 5m x 5m grass area, 20 chairs & 2 Trestle Tables and 1 x power point – R4575-00 ex Vat per site. Optional Extra is a Flat screen TV – R600-00 ex Vat.
  • Club Tent Area 2 – includes a 6m x 5m aluminium marquee and 5m x 5m grass space, 20 chairs and 2 Trestle Tables and 1 x power point – R3000-00 ex Vat per site. Optional Extra is a Flat screen TV – R600-00 ex Vat.
  • Club Tent Area 3 - 12m x 6m grass space only – R1320-00 ex Vat per site. There will be a Big Screen in this area. These sites will have NO individual power points and TV access. Club Gazebos are allowed in this area.
  • Club Tent Area 4– 6m x 6m grass space only – R660-00 ex Vat per site. There will be a Big Screen in this area. These sites will have NO individual power points and TV access. Club Gazebos are allowed in this area.

SUITES

These will be inside the Moses Mabhida Stadium (Level 3 and 5) and include the following options:

  • 30 seater viewing suite – R5750-00 ex Vat.
  • This includes - Security, Pre and Post Cleaning and on the day cleaning. Staffing includes General Assistant, Host and Sector Manager per 5 suites. 1 x Bar, 3 x Cocktail Tables and 8 x Chairs or 3 x Café Tables and 8 x Café Chairs, Catering Tables and Linen per suite. Optional Extra is a Flat screen TV – R600-00 ex Vat.
  • 30 seater viewing suite – R6950-00 ex Vat.
  • This includes Security, Pre and Post Cleaning and on the day cleaning. Staffing includes General Assistant, Host and Sector Manager per 5 suites. Dedicated Waiter and Barman. 1 x Bar, 3 x Cocktail Tables and 8 x Chairs or 3 x Café Tables and 8 x Café Chairs, Catering Tables and Linen per suite. Optional Extra is a Flat screen TV – R600-00 ex Vat.

PLEASE NOTE THERE ARE 50 X 30 SEATER VIEWING SUITES AVAILABLE BETWEEN THESE ABOVE 2 PACKAGES

  • 150 seater suite and Club Area – R19200-00 ex Vat CHANGE (Package 1)

This facility is made up of 5 x individual 30 seater suites with a large Club Area that is situated behind the 5 suites

  • This includes - Security, Pre and Post Cleaning and on the day cleaning. Staffing includes General Assistant, Host and Sector Manager per 5 suites. Furniture and Fittings include Mixture of Café, Banquet and Cocktail Tables and Seating, Buffet Counters, Fridges and Fitted Bars. Optional Extra is a Flat screen TV – R600-00 ex Vat.
  • 150 seater suite and Club Area – R29600-00 ex Vat (Package 2)

This facility is made up of 5 x individual 30 seater suites with a large Club Area that is situated behind the 5 suites

  • This includes Security, Pre and Post Cleaning and on the day cleaning. Staffing includes General Assistant, Host and Sector Manager per 5 suites. 6 x Dedicated Waiters and 4 x Barmen. Furniture and Fittings include Mixture of Café, Banquet and Cocktail Tables and Seating, Buffet Counters, Fridges and Fitted Bars. Optional Extra is a Flat screen TV – R600-00 ex Vat.

PLEASE NOTE THERE ARE ONLY 5 OF THESE VENUES AVAILABLE BETWEEN THESE ABOVE 2 PACKAGES IN THE 150 SEATER SUITE AND CLUB AREAS

ALL Bookings (both Club Sites and Suites) will only be accepted via the online booking system on www.comrades.com. No telephonic bookings will be allowed!! Once your online booking is received you will receive an invoice and your site/s will only be reserved based on full payment within 48 hours of invoice date from Ward Events. If payment has not been made in this time period your site will be released back into “the pool” of sites.  Ward Events will allocate both Club Sites and Suites and their favourable position based on a first come – first pay basis.

  • The layout of the Comrades 2018 finish at Moses Mabhida Stadium so you can familiarize yourselves with the new finish and positions of the club site options and suites available

There will also be an option for catering when you book your site. If you choose YES on this option, a menu (fast food type) and drinks order (beers and cold drinks only) will be sent to you once all sites and suites have been sold and these orders will have to be returned and paid for by FRIDAY 11 MAY 2018. If we don’t have these back by 11 May 2018 we will not be entertaining any further catering and drinks orders/booking forms.

BY STRICT ORDER OF THE STADIUM NO FOOD AND DRINKS WILL BE PERMITTED INTO THE STADIUM OR INTO THE PEOPLES PARK CLUB TENT SITE VILLAGE AT ANY TIME. WARD EVENTS THE OFFICIAL HOSPITALITY PROVIDER TO COMRADES MARATHON ASSOCIATION WILL BE PROVIDING ALL CATERING REQUIREMENTS

With the above mentioned in mind we once again ask you to read the rules below that pertain to race weekend and inform all runners and their families:

 CLUB TENT SITES

  • If clubs bring their own club tents/Gazebo, they must not exceed the size of the allocated grass area per site and will only be allowed in People’s Park and NOT in the Stadium
  • No platforms, scaffolding or sponsors signage may be used at the tent sites. 
  • Although security is provided at the finish, neither the Comrades Marathon Association, its sponsors, Ward Events, Moses Mabhida Stadium and their partners will take responsibility for any loss or damage to club property. 
  • No vehicles will be permitted into the stadium prescient and including Peoples Park after Friday 8 June 2018. Trailers may be pushed into the demarcated area by hand, and left in a designated area and to be collected on Monday 11th June 2018. These trailers will be subject to a search by security to ensure that no food, no soft drinks and no alcohol are brought into the licensed venue
  • Clubs must ensure that their own tents/gazebos are erected on Saturday 9th June 2018 and by no later than 16h00
  • NO BRAAI FIRES OR GAS CYLINDERS WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE STADIUM OR PEOPLES PARK, IF FOUND, THESE WILL BE REMOVED BY SECURITYRunners may also make use of the soup tent at the finish where hot beverages and soup will be provided.
  • NO FOOD, NO SOFT DRINKS & NO ALCOHOL MAY BE BOUGHT INTO THE LICENSED STADIUM & PEOPLES PARK VILLAGE. IF FOUND, ALL ALCOHOL, SOFT DRINKS AND FOOD WILL BE REMOVED BY SECURITY. THERE WILL BE PUBLIC BARS & FOOD VENDING KIOSKS AVAILABLE IN AND AROUND THE STADIUM DURING THE COURSE OF THE DAY.
  • No advertising or branding maybe be displayed
  • All clubs must be responsible for security at their own club tent sites and we advise that you have a club member at your site most of the day

SUITES

  • No advertising or branding maybe be displayed OUTSIDE the suite
  • Although security is provided at the finish, neither the Comrades Marathon Association, its sponsors, Ward Events, Moses Mabhida Stadium and their partners will take responsibility for any loss or damage to club property. 
  • Once the suites have been opened for the day by stadium security we suggest that you have a club member at your suite all day
  • No defacing of the suites will be allowed
  • NO FOOD, NO SOFT DRINKS & NO ALCOHOL MAY BE BOUGHT INTO THE LICENSED STADIUM & PEOPLES PARK VILLAGE. IF FOUND, ALL ALCOHOL, SOFT DRINKS AND FOOD WILL BE REMOVED BY SECURITY. THERE WILL BE PUBLIC BARS & FOOD VENDING KIOSKS AVAILABLE IN AND AROUND THE STADIUM DURING THE COURSE OF THE DAY.
