The Comrades Marathon Association aims to achieve its vision through world-class race organization, administration, customer service and innovation, while acknowledging the rich heritage of the Comrades Marathon. Membership

Membership of CMA shall be open to all persons who subscribe to the primary objects of CMA and who have applied for membership. The Board of Trustees shall have the right to refuse membership of the CMA to any persons provided that refusal is not based on religious or political belief, sex, nationality or race, any application for membership shall be submitted to the Board of Trustees for approval or rejection. If the application is approved the applicant, on payment of any subscription or fees which may be due, shall become an member subject to the rights and obligations of other members of CMA.

The Board

At the Annual General Meeting of The Comrades Marathon Association held on Wednesday 29th October 2008, the Comrades Marathon Association Executive Committee and Board of Trustees were merged into one executive structure, The Comrades Marathon Board.

A total of seventeen candidates were nominated and made themselves available for election onto the new Comrades Board, contesting nine available positions. The following candidates were elected to serve on the Comrades Marathon Board for a two-year term ending October 2010:
